They raised their children on a farm near Graettinger, and later moved to Ruthven. Jim passed away in Dec. of 1984. She later married Jim Trimble in 1991. He passed away in Dec. of 1999.
Along with raising ten children, Devona had various job opportunities and had a very strong work ethic. Devona was a woman with many talents that included her seamstress abilities, her style for fashion, her interior and exterior decorating of her home, and her creativity for landscaping. Her yard was admired for its beauty, precise detail, and elegance. She worked hard and enjoyed keeping her yard beautiful and she received many compliments. She took pride in her projects and had a never-ending list. Her home was welcoming for many gatherings and loved sharing her home with others. She enjoyed her visits from her children and grandchildren.
Devona was a devoted member of the Catholic Faith. Throughout her life she was instrumental in sharing her faith with others by teaching religion classes, serving as a Eucharistic Minister, not only at church, but providing Holy Communion for the sick and elderly in the nursing home. She also was an active lector during the Mass.
