Dorlagene White, age 93 of Mallard, passed away Tuesday, January 16, 2024, at Palo Alto County Hospital in Emmetsburg. Memorial service will be 10:30 AM Saturday, May 4, 2024 at the Mallard United Methodist Church. Burial will take place in Rush Lake Cemetery. Services have been entrusted to Lentz Funeral Home of Mallard.
Dorlagene Kraft White, the daughter of Henry J. and Mae (Carr) Kraft, was born on January 4, 1931 in the hospital in Algona, Iowa.
She grew up and graduated from High School in Renwick in 1948. She attended Iowa State Teacher College in Cedar Falls, Iowa, receiving her teaching certificate. She taught in Ayrshire Consolidated School.
On October 4, 1952, she was united in marriage to Vernon White at the Renwick St. Paul's Lutheran Church. On October 13, 1958 they were blessed with their son.
They lived on the family farm. She enjoyed farming along with her husband, who was her best friend.
Her deep faith was evident in her life. She taught Sunday School for over 20 years and served in many capacities in the church and women groups throughout the years.
She Enjoyed her neighborhood coffee group each month and the Curlew Coffee on Thursday mornings.
She was a person who tried to do her best in a cheerful, happy, spirit but also, she was one who followed the Lord. She loved her family and cherished the time she was able to spend with them.
Her faith, family and friends were the most important part of her life. She will be remembered by her smile, laughter and joy. She felt truly blessed to have such a full, satisfying and happy life. Her HOME was her "HAPPY PLACE."
Dorla was preceded in death by her parents; sister; and husband: Vernon of almost 60 years. She is survived by her son: Jeff (Nan) White of Frisco, Texas; grandchildren: Joe Cotten, Walker (Meghan) White and Logan White and great grandchildren: Brooklyn, Ryker, Blane, Levi and Miles.
