Therese Kaiser age 86, of Camarillo, CA (formerly of Sheldon) passed away Wednesday, Oct. 12, 2022.
Therese Kaiser was born on Oct. 20, 1935, in Emmetsburg, the daughter of Joseph and Mary (Roper) McNamara. She grew up in Emmetsburg and later graduated from St. Mary’s Catholic School.
On Aug. 18, 1956, she married James Haupert, and to this union four children were born. On Dec. 18, 1998, she married the love of her life, Conrad Kaiser. They lived a fulfilling life and enjoyed traveling, dancing, golfing, hosting dinner parties and spending time at Starbucks reading books together. Therese was an avid volunteer over the years taking on exciting roles of Travel Host and Weekly Dance Coordinator for Leisure Village where she resided.
Most importantly was her time with the Lord and her role as a prayer warrior for family and friends. She was a member of the Padre Serra Catholic Church in Camarillo, CA where she enjoyed attending bible study classes and volunteering her time as a Eucharistic Minister and Sponsor for new Catholics.
Over the years, Therese worked at various jobs, including Team Lead making fishing poles for Berkley Mfg., Children’s World (known by many as “Miss Therese”) in Sheldon for 14 years, and co-owner of L’Trio Catering for 13 years.
Therese’s energy and optimism influenced the many people who were a part of her life. Time was never an issue when someone else was in need. Her children and grandchildren would argue quite often as to who was her “favorite,” yet she made each and every one feel special and loved by her.
Left to cherish her memory are her four children, Joseph (Thelma) Haupert of Lexington, KY, James (Ardemis) Haupert of Vista, CA, Victoria Dodge of Ruskin, FL and Tresa Chester (Paul Corbett) of Sheldon; nine grandchildren Jeremiah (Jenna) Haupert, JoAnne Haupert, Sydney (fiancé, Mike) Haupert, Kyle Haupert, Tayler Markell (Tim Holland), Tony (Amanda) Dodge, Ryan Dodge, Cassandra Wolthuizen and Brennan Chester; eight great grandchildren Austin and Grayson Haupert, Charm and Hazel Markell, Jackson and Blake Dodge, and Kyla and Berkley Wolthuizen; special friend, Bob Pegg; nieces, nephews, and extended family.
In addition to her parents, Therese is preceded in death by her husband Conrad Kaiser, two sisters, Mary Jane Hindera and JoAnne Carlson, two brothers in law David Hindera and Cliff Carlson.
Memorial services will be held Friday, Nov. 11, at Padre Serra Catholic Church with the burial to be held on Nov.12, at Riverside National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made online through the memorial fund to one of Therese’s favorite charities, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
