Susanna Bredehoeft, 84 of Algona formerly of West Bend & Emmetsburg, passed away Wednesday, May 27, 2026, at the Kossuth Regional Health Center in Algona. Funeral services were held on Wednesday, June 3, 2026 at Peace Lutheran Church in West Bend.

Susanna Ann Bredehoeft, the daughter of Virgil and Bertha (Marti) Wilson, was born on April 14, 1942, in Sioux City, Iowa. She attended school in West Bend and graduated with the class of 1960. On October 27, 1973, Sue was united in marriage to Thomas Bredehoeft at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Sac City. Susanna worked various jobs that included a turkey factory in Storm Lake, Chrome Kitchen, Snap-On Tools, a pork plant in Britt, helped on the farm and took care of Gary Hargarty for many years.

Sue was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary where she serviced as the President for the district and county, the Good Sam Auxiliary and the Senior Center. She enjoyed volunteering at Good Sam in Algona, baking, crafts, participating in Garden Club, playing croquet and canning her famous dill pickles.

Left to cherish Sue’s memory are her son, Jeffery (Gayle) Wilson of Illinois; grandchildren, Annie and Zack; siblings, Linda (Gary) Glaser of Las Vegas, NV, Robert Wilson of West Bend, Theron (Penny) Wilson of Ledyard, William (Sandy) Wilson of Columbus, NE and James (Evelyn) Wilson of West Bend; sister-in-law, Tammy Wilson of Emmetsburg; and numerous nieces, nephews, other family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Virgil and Bertha (Marti) Wilson; husband, Thomas Bredehoeft; sisters, Marian Strong, Betty Fowler and Gloria Wilson; brothers, Virgil, John, Marlon, and Glenn Wilson; sisters-in-law, Shirley Wilson and Sharon Wilson.
