A celebration of life for Raymond Weir will be held at a later date.
Raymond Joseph Weir, 90, passed away peacefully at home, from illness on Feb. 7, 2025.
Raymond was born on April 14, 1934 to Patrick and Helen Weir in Emmetsburg, Iowa. Raymond is survived by his wife of 69 years, Shirley Annette Weir, and his two children, Gerald Weir (Luann Dragone) and Jeanine Callan. Raymond is also survived by his three grandchildren, Ned Callan, Gabriel Weir, and Jacqueline Weir.
Raymond was raised in Emmetsburg, He joined the U.S. Navy and is veteran of the Korean War, and retired from the U.S. Navy Reserves. After his time on active duty he and Shirley moved to Carter Lake Iowa. Ray was actively involved in his local community. He helped coach youth baseball, was a member of the Carter Lake Optimist club, active member of VFW Post 9661. He also enjoyed traveling and spending time outdoors with his family.
