Larry Hauschen, 73, of Bardstown, Kentucky passed away Thursday December 19, 2024 at the University Of Louisville with his family by his side.
Larry was born July 8, 1951 in Ruthven Iowa, to the late Ellsworth "Butch" and Joan Garrels Hauschen.
Larry was a loving Father, grandfather, and Brother, Larry was an Economics Professor with Sullivan University, Larry served in the United States Army,
Larry graduated valedictorian from Ruthven High School (Iowa) in 1969. He was drafted into the U.S. Army where he served 4 years at St. James, MN. Larry met his wife Phyllis at Concordia, University, NE. They were married in Ann Arbor, MI on August 14, 1971. He graduated from Mankato State University in 1975, with his Bachelor's and earned his master's degree in agriculture Economics from Southern Illinois University (Carbondale IL) in 1977. After completing college, Larry worked for the Federal Reserve Bank out of Dallas, TX and the Federal Land Bank in St. Paul MN. Later he went to work for Farmer's Home Administration and started his own appraisal Business, Hauschen & Associates, which brought him to Kentucky, where he spent the rest of his adulthood. He then taught for Sullivan University for many years.
In addition to his parents, Larry is preceded in death by his wife, Phyllis Cardone Hauschen, three brothers, Kenny, Tim, and Dave Hauschen.
Larry is survived by one son, Michael (Kelly) Hauschen of New Port Richey Florida, two daughters, Jennifer (Terry) Osborne of Bardstown, and Kalisa (Jason) Spalding of Bardstown, twelve grandchildren, Specialist Tucker Hauschen of Fayetteville, NC, Airman Katey Hauschen of St. Petersburg Florida, Jared and Ailynn Hauschen of New Port Richey, Florida, Ethan, Grant, Anna, Tori and Elle Osborne of Bardstown, Kentucky, Carter, Cash, and Claire Spalding of Bardstown, Kentucky. He is also survived by one brother, Steve (Dawn) Hauschen of Emmetsburg, Iowa and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Visitation for Larry Hauschen will be Thursday December 26, 2024 from 2 to 6 p.m. with a prayer service at 6 p.m. at Faith Worship Center, 3160 Bloomfield Road, Bardstown, Kentucky.
Larry will be laid to rest on December 28, 2024 at 1 p.m. at Minneopa Cemetery, Mankato, MN.
