Elizabeth B. Reinders was born on December 22, 1935 in Graettinger, Iowa to Jake and Ursula (Wiwi) Loring. She passed away on July 8, 2026 at the Meth-Wick Community in Cedar Rapids, Iowa at the age of 90. Private family services will be held at a later date.
Liz attended St. Allan's Grade School in Emmetsburg and graduated from Emmetsburg High School. Liz was united in marriage to James Reinders on September 24, 1955 at the Assumption Parish in Emmetsburg. They moved to Estherville shortly after that and began their family. Liz worked for many years as a nurse’s aide at Rosewood Manor. She also enjoyed cooking and worked in the kitchen at Red Owl for seven years, and later in the kitchens of Forest Ridge School and Holy Family Hospital, retiring in 2006. Following Jim's death in 2019, Liz moved to Cedar Rapids to be closer to her family.
Liz was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Estherville, where she was active in Church Circle. Liz enjoyed volunteering at the Emmet County Food Pantry. Traveling with Jim brought Liz great joy. She also liked to play cards and golf. Liz cherished her time with her family.
Liz is survived by her children Cathy (Mark) Mowrey of Cedar Rapids, James Reinders Jr. (Harry Clark) of California, and Dawn (Gerry) Miller of Wales, WI; and two grandsons Bryce Mowrey and Chase Finnegan. She is also survived by her brothers Larry Loring of Texas and Frank Loring of Emmetsburg.
She is preceded in death by her husband, and her siblings Annabelle Walker, Rita Goeders, Alberta Spurlin, Pauline Loring, Edward Loring, Ray Loring, James Loring, and Marge Onken.
