Funeral service for Linda Davis was held on Tuesday, March 12, 2024, at 10:30 A.M. at Oakcrest Funeral Services in Algona. Burial was at the Laurel Hill Cemetery in Irvington.
Linda Kay Davis was born August 19, 1947, in Emmetsburg, Iowa, the daughter of Archie and Edna (O’Clair) Halstead. She grew up in Emmetsburg where she also attended school. After her schooling she moved to Algona and began working as a waitress.
On November 17, 1968, Linda was united in marriage to Garry Davis in Emmetsburg, Iowa. Following their marriage they lived in Algona and began their family. They were blessed with three girls. Garry died March 27, 1980, at the age of 38. Linda remained in Algona where she raised her daughters.
Linda enjoyed crocheting, writing children’s books, journaling and singing. She was a very spiritual and faith filled person and she especially loved her grandchildren, Bailey Fowler and Ruby Carney.
Linda died Thursday, March 7, 2024, at the Kossuth Regional Health Center in Algona, Iowa, at the age of 76.
She is survived by her daughters, Gale Davis of Oklahoma; Paula and husband, Jason Fowler of Ottosen; Kathy Davis and husband, Steve Carney of Emmetsburg; two grandchildren, Bailey Fowler and Ruby Carney. She is also survived by sisters, Joan Opheim of White Settlement, TX; Pat (Brian) Rike of Bricelyn, MN; Carmen Kaneer of Emmetsburg and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Garry; brother, Galen Halstead and grandchildren, Tristan and Rosalie.
