www.martinmatticefuneralhome.comRonald R. Mattice, formerly from Sioux Rapids, passed away Monday, Nov. 16, 2020 at his home in El Paso, TX at the age of 70.

Ronald Roger Mattice, son of Roger and Opal (Lovely) Mattice, was born Jan. 2, 1950 in Sioux City. He received his education in Sioux Rapids and the Mexico Military Academy in Mexico, MO. He served in the United States Marine Corp and, after being honorably discharged in 1970, he moved to California.

In 1974 Ron returned to Sioux Rapids where he owned and operated an auto salvage yard and motorcycle shop. He did auto mechanic work on vehicles as well as motorcycles. He had a lifelong love of cars, doing body work and servicing them.

Ron moved back to California and continued in the auto salvage business, locating vintage automobiles and renting them to movie studios to be used in movie productions. This gave him many opportunities to meet movie stars and producers. Ron moved back to the Midwest, making his home in Council Bluffs.

On June 6, 2012 Ron was united in marriage to Linda Roa. They made their home in Council Bluffs before moving to El Paso, TX.

Ron is survived by his wife, Linda Mattice of El Paso, TX; his children, Robert Mattice of Council Bluffs, and Elisha Reed of Council Bluffs; grandchildren; his brother, Alan (Tracey) Mattice of Emmetsburg; as well as many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Dr. Roger and Opal Mattice.
