GRAETTINGER -- Services for Kenneth E. Ebeling, 75, of Graettinger, formerly of Trimont, MN, will be held on Saturday, Feb. 20, at 11 a.m. at the Kramer Family Funeral Home Chapel in Trimont, MN, with Pastor John Meyer officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Memorial Park Cemetery in Fairmont, MN.

Due to COVID-19, the funeral service will be limited to family.

Kenneth was called to his eternal rest on Friday, Feb. 12, 2021 at Lakeside Lutheran Home in Emmetsburg.

Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Friday, Feb. 19, at the Kramer Family Funeral Home in Trimont, MN. Mask, social distancing, and all COVID-19 protocol will be enforced.

Kenneth Elmer Ebeling was born on Nov. 4, 1945 to Elmer F. and Lucille (Wille) Ebeling at the Fairmont Community Hospital in Fairmont, MN. He was raised on the family farm seven miles northeast of Trimont, MN. He attended his first six years at Rural District #88 school. Ken attended Trimont High School, graduating with the class of 1963.

After high school he attended Minnesota State University Mankato. Ken graduated in 1968 with a B.S. Teaching Degree in Science. For the next 38 years he taught science in the public classroom teaching Chemistry, Physics, Biology, Physical Science, Anatomy and on occasion Math. He retired from teaching in 2006, the last 24 years in the Graettinger, Iowa Community School System.

He was a member of NEA, ISEA, and the Graettinger Education Association. He was also a member of the Iowa Science Teachers Section of the Iowa Academy of Science.

In 2000, he was appointed to complete a term as Commissioner for the Palo Alto County Soil and Water Conservation District. He went on to complete three more terms. He was appointed Trustee to the Graettinger Library Board of Trustees, serving as Chairperson until his passing.

Ken is survived by his brother, Vernon Ebeling of Kasson, MN; sisters, Laverna Diekmann of Trimont, MN and Shirley Strusz of Zumbrota, MN; special friend, Rosemary White of Kanawha; as well as numerous nephews, nieces and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer F. and Lucille (Wille) Ebeling; brother-in-law, Wallace Diekmann; sister-in-law, Kay Ebeling and nephew, Steven Strusz and other relatives.
