A Mass of Christian Burial for Jeannine Snavely was held Saturday, Nov. 21, at Holy Family Catholic Church in Emmetsburg. Celebrant was the Rev. Bill Schreiber.

Interment was in Evergreen Cemetery, Emmetsburg. The Martin-Mattice Funeral Home in Emmetsburg was in charge of arrangements.

Jeannine Kane Snavely, daughter of James and Marie (Martini) Kane, was born Aug.t 5, 1939 in Emmetsburg. She received her education in Emmetsburg, graduating from Emmetsburg High School in 1957.

On Jan. 28, 1963 Jeannine was united in marriage to Ronald Jerome Snavely at St. Thomas Catholic Church in Emmetsburg. They made their home in Cylinder and were blessed with two children, Marc and Kristine.

Jeannine was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Emmetsburg. She was employed as the Clerk of Court serving Palo Alto County and Kossuth County from 1981 until her retirement in 2006.

Jeannine enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and extended family as well as her friends. She often watched the Food Network and the Hallmark Channel and enjoyed going out for dinner.

Jeannine moved to Emmetsburg and lived at the new Lakeside assisted living facility after it was built. She had recently moved to Sioux City to be closer to her daughter, Kris.

Jeannine passed away Monday, Nov. 16, 2020 at Countryside Health Care Center in Sioux City, at the age of 81. She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Marie Kane; her husband, Ronald; and a brother, Leo Kane.

She is survived by her children, Marc Snavely and his wife, Kelly of Wilton, Iowa and Kristine Snavely of McCook Lake, SD; her grandchildren, Kerrington Snavely of Omaha, NE and Max Snavely of Wilton; brothers, Robert Kane of Des Plaines, IL and Joseph Kane and his wife, Mary of Remsen; nieces and nephews; as well as many other relatives and friends.
