Services for 84-year-old Jean Westfall of Emmetsburg will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 25 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Emmetsburg. Burial will be at South Walnut Cemetery near Graettinger. Visitation will be Wednesday, Jan. 25 from 10-11 a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Emmetsburg.
Lois Jean Westfall, daughter of James and Mae (Smith) Boles, was born June 26, 1938 in Graettinger. She received her education in Graettinger.
On Jan. 8, 1955 Jean was united in marriage to Donald Westfall in Graettinger. They were blessed with four children.
Jean was employed at the Palo Alto County Hospital in Emmetsburg where she worked in the laundry department for many years. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Emmetsburg.
Jean loved to spend time with her children and grandchildren. She also enjoyed socializing with her sisters and friends, going out to eat or getting together for a game of 500 or Euchre.
Jean passed away Monday, Jan. 23, 2023 at the Palo Alto County Hospital in Emmetsburg at the age of 84. She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Mae Boles; twin sons; a granddaughter, Amanda Westfall; husband, Donald on Dec. 10, 1984; two brothers, Wallace Boles and Robert Boles; sisters, Marion Potter, Marie Beschorner, Kathleen Curry, Ella Boles and Susy Petersen.
She is survived by her children, Rick and Julie Westfall of Laurens, Tammy and Gary Lowman of Emmetsburg, Steve and Bobbie Westfall of Emmetsburg, and Shelly and John Charapata of Emmetsburg; nine grandchildren; eighteen great grandchildren; one great-great granddaughter; nieces and nephews; as well as many other relatives and friends.
