SPENCER -- Funeral service for Alex Leewright was held Thursday, May 20, at the Warner Chapel in Spencer. Pastor Paul Frederiksen officiated. The Warner Funeral Home in Spencer was in charge of arrangements.
Alex Michael Leewright, the son of Deborah Leewright and Steve Olerich, was born March 14, 1990 in Storm Lake. His childhood years were spent in Storm Lake and Emmetsburg where he received his education, graduating from Emmetsburg High School.
He enjoyed spending time with his son playing with dinosaurs and video games. His son was in Taekwondo which he loved bringing him to and watching. He loved the holidays and getting together with family.
His favorite activities were riding his motorcycle, video games, watching football and calling his brother about it. Two of his biggest influences were his mom and dad, he would always call and visit with his mom and dad. He was very proud to be a member of the Spencer Bunch Motorcycle Club.
Alex passed away as a result of injuries received in a motorcycle accident in Spencer on Saturday, May 15, 2021 at the age of 31.
He is survived by his mother, Deborah Leewright of Emmetsburg; his father, Steve Olerich of Emmetsburg; his brother, Nick Leewright and his wife Evie Leewright of Albert City; step brother, Tony Statz and his wife, Annie of Storm Lake; a son, Cooper Leewright of Spencer; other relatives and many friends.
