Area Golf Teams Compete At Twin Lakes Tournament

Area boys and girls golf teams would compete in the Twin Lakes Conference tournament last week, with Emmetsburg, West Bend-Mallard, and Greattinger-Terril/Ruthven-Ayrshire (GTRA) girls heading to Lakeside Municipal Golf Course on Monday, and the area boys traveling to Lake Creek in Storm Lake on Tuesday.
The Lady E-Hawks would finish in seventh place overall on Monday, finishing the TLC tournament with a team score of 451, while GTRA girls would end the competition three strokes ahead, finishing in fifth place and posting a team score of 448.
Emmetsburg’s Sierra Wolff would earn a second place finish on the day, carding 91 at the tournament. West Bend-Mallard’s Ryan Hoch would shoot 106 on the day, placing 11th and leading the Wolverines at the event. GTRA would see three girls finish the tournament at 108, with Josi Reiman, McKenzie Hoffman and Chloe Jones tying at 13th.
The Emmetsburg boys would finish the TLC tournament at third place, carding a score of 365 on Tuesday. The Wolverines would follow in sixth place with a team score of 384, and the GTRA Titans would finish in ninth with a 390.
Emmetsburg’s Keegan Joyce would finish the event in fourth place, posting a total of 84 after carding rounds of 41 and 43. West Bend-Mallard’s Kody Elbert, who carded rounds of 46 and 42, would finish in eighth place with a total of 88. The E-Hawks would also see Matt Wirtz finish 12th after rounds of 43 and 47 for a total of 90 on the day.
