Area football will be entering the first round of playoffs this Friday and teams are getting ready for postseason play.

In Emmetsburg, the E-Hawks faced a tough setback on Friday night, falling behind to Western Christian after a Wolfpack field goal with 25 seconds left in the game. The E-Hawks would attempt to fight back but come up just short on a last minute turnover to fall 7-10.

“I though it was a really good team effort,” said Head Coach Mike Dunlap. “We struggled to move the ball at times but I though our defense played really well. We just weren’t able to make plays when we needed them. Overall I thought we played really well in all three phases of the game against a really good, physical football team.”

The E-Hawks would close out the regular season at 5-1 as they prepare to enter postseason play this Friday. hosting the 0-5 Eagle Grove Eagles at Duane Twait Field.

Coming off a close loss, the E-Hawks hope to rebound by going back to their basics – playing tough, solid football.
