The Emmetsburg E-Hawks remain undefeated after an exciting 36-35 conclusion to last Friday’s Homecoming battle against West Sioux.

“Our win over the Falcons was a great team effort,” said Head Coach Mike Dunlap. “I thought our defense played really well. Obviously when you give up 35 points you wouldn’t think you played well, but West Sioux was a really good offensive team. I thought our kids did a great job in all three phases of the game. There are definitely some areas we can improve on, but it was a great team win.”

Heading into the final game of the regular season this Friday, the E-Hawks are preparing for another tough challenge as they host the Wolfpack of Western Christian at Duane Twait Field.

“Western Christian is as good or better than the team we just played,” said Dunlap. “They have great size, great speed, and a very good quarterback.”

The Wolfpack’s senior quarterback, Tyson Boer, has thrown for over 1,000 yards this season, while senior running back Carson Elbers put up 481 yards on the ground.

“Defensively, they will put a lot of pressure on our kids,” said Dunlap. “Overall, this Friday will be very similar to last week’s game.”
