Lady E-Hawks Split Week with 3-1 Win and 0-3 Loss

It was a tale of two contests for the Lady E-Hawks at Emmetsburg High School last week, taking down Storm Lake St. Mary’s in a 3-1 win on Tuesday night, but falling to Cherokee 0-3 on Senior Night Thursday.

Tuesday’s 3-1 win over St. Mary’s saw Emmetsburg win the first two sets, struggle in the third, but find footing in the fourth, earning scores of 25-20, 25-23, 20-25, and 25-18.

Senior Abbie Schany would lead the girls with an aggressive attack at the net, knocking 13 kills on the night and also picking up three digs while serving 10 of 15 serves with one ace. Fellow senior Macy McAllister hit eight kills, six digs and 14 of 19 serves with an ace, while Maddy Mueller tallied seven kills and 10 digs, serving 16 of 18 with two aces. Junior Raegen Swanson would serve up 13 of 14 with three aces.

Thursday’s 0-3 Senior Night setback to Cherokee saw the Lady E-Hawks fall with scores of 25-22, 25-22, and 25-11.
