E-Hawks, Titans Earn All Conference Golf Honors

STORM?LAKE – With challenges of brisk winds and a difficult course, golfers from Emmetsburg, Graettinger-Terril/Ruthven-Ayrshire and West Bend-Mallard/Gilmore City-Brad -gate gave their all at the 2018 Twin Lakes Conference Boys Golf Tournament. The tournament, played at Lake Creek Country Club in Storm Lake, was won by Newell-Fonda with a359 stroke total, while Alta-Aurelia finished 386. Graettinger-Terril/Ruthven-Ayrshire would finish fifth with a score of 398 while Emmetsburg was one stroke behind with a 399 to finish in sixth place. West Bend-Mallard/Gilmore City-Bradgate would finish in ninth place with a 444 stroke score.
Emmetsburg’s E-Hawks would earn a pair of Twin Lakes All Conference Team honors as junior Calvin Hart and senior Adam Berkland finished in the top 15 out of the field of 69 golfers.
Graettinger-Terril/ Ruthven-Ayrshire would earn one All Conference placing for Tyson Kruse, who earned the overall Runner-up Meet Medalist honors.
For Coach Tyler Bjustrom’s squad, Calvin Hart would turn in rounds of 48 and 46 for a 94-stroke total, which earned him a 13th place finish individually.
Adam Berkland would shoot rounds of 52 and 45 for a 97, which placed him in a three-way tie for 15th place to earn the final All Conference berth.
For the rest of the E-Hawks, Gerard Ruiz would shoot rounds of 52 and 51 for a 103 to finish in 27th place, while Hunter McAllister carded rounds of 55 and 50 for a 105 stroke total for 35th place.
Jace Carlson would shoot rounds of 50 and 69 for a 119 stroke total and 53rd place and Isaac Embrock would round out the effort or Emmetsburg with his rounds of 63 and 59 for a 121 stroke total, which gave him the 55th place finish.
Tyson Kruse had the big day on Monday, shooting rounds of 44 and 42 for an 86 stroke total, which gave him the Runner Up Medalist Honors behind Alta-Aurelia’s Alex Snyder, who shot an 84.
Brody Krieg would place 24th for the Titans with his rounds of 50 and 51 for a 101, while Carter Koenck shot rounds of 56 and 47 for a 103, good for a 28th place finish.
Carter Murray would card rounds of 50 and 58 for a 108 stroke total, which gave him a 38th place finish, while Brady Rosacker shot rounds of 51 and 57 for a 108 to place 39th.
Rounding out the effort for the Titans was Brady Olson, who finished 46th with his round of 52 and 60 for a 112-stroke total.
For the West Bend-Mallard/Gilmore City-Bradgate Wolverines, Cole Hoskins would lead the efforts on Monday with his rounds of 50 and 54 for a total score of 104, which was good for 30th place.
Nick Ford would shoot rounds of 52 and 55 for a 107-stroke total, which translated into a 37th place finish.
Kody Elbert would turn in rounds of 56 and 58 for a 114, which gave him 48th place, while Bryce Schany would card rounds of 62 and 57 for a total score of 119, which was good for 54th place.
Rounding out the effort was Michael Auten with his rounds of 66 and 56 for a 121 stroke total and 56th place overall finish.
