WBM/GCB Wolverine Golfers Busy

WEST?BEND – The Wolverine golfers of West Bend-Mallard/Gilmore City-Bradgate hosted consecutive matches at the end of last week.

On Thursday, the Wolverines hosted Alta-Aurelia, St. Mary’s and Pocahontas Area in a Twin Lakes Conference Quadrangular and finished third.

Alta-Aurelia would win the quad with a team-score of 183, while Pocahontas Area was second with a 191 stroke total. West Bend-Mallard/Gilmore City-Bradgate would place third with a 203 stroke score and St. Mary’s was fourth with a 251.

Alex Snyder of Alta-Aurelia took the meet medalist honors with a 41, while Max Seiler of Pocahontas Area was runner-up medalist with a round of 41.

For the Wolverines, Nick Ford led the effort with a round of 45, while Cole Hoskins shot a round of 50. Michael Auten chipped in a round of 51, while Bryce Schany and Kody Elbert both shot rounds of 57 and Tyler Huebner shot a round of 74.

For the Wolverine JV squad, Ryan Schuler shot a 58 and Levi Mogler carded a 62. Nate Schneider shot a 71 and Brandon Yoch added a round of 75.

Friday afternoon, the Wolverines welcomed Emmetsburg and Graettinger-Terril/Ruthven-Ayrshire for the makeup County Golf meet. Emmetsburg would win the meet with a 188 stroke total, while GT/RA followed with a 193 and the Wolverines shot a 218.

Emmetsburg’s Calvin Hart was the meet medalist witha round of 42 and GT/RA’s Tyson Kruse was runnerup medalist with a 43.

For the Wolverines, Bryce Schany would lead the effort with a 52, which included a 70-yard chip shot on hole #1 for an eagle. Cole Hoskins shot a 54, while Nick Ford and Michael Auten both carded rounds of 56. Cole Thilges shot a 57 and Kody Elbert shot a 58.

Graettinger-Terril/ Ruthven-Ayrshire was led by Tyson Kruse’s roun fo 43, with Carter Koenck, Brady Rosacker and Brody Kreig all shooting rounds of 50. Carter Murray shot a 51 and Brady Olson shot a 52.

For Emmetsburg, Calvin Hart led the charge with his round of 42, while Hunter McAllister and Gerard Ruiz both shot rounds of 47. Adam Berkland shot a 52, while Jace Carlson and Isaac Embrock both shot rounds of 53.
