Lady Wolverines Compete At Jon Larsen Relays
ARMSTRONG – With just two weeks remaining before Regional Track and Field competitions, the West Bend-Mallard/Gilmore City-Bradgate girls track and field team competed last week at the Jon Larsen Relays in Armstrong. The Lady Wolverines would compete for just the second time this season, but came away from the outing with a several first-place finishes.
The Lady Wolverines started things out with a first place finish in the 4×800 Relay, as the quartet of Bell Gehrt, Monika Fehr, Emma Thatcher and Rachel Fehr turned in a 10:40.41 clocking.
Also taking first place was the 4×400 relay, comprised of Ashlyn Banwart, Monkia Fehr, Rachel Fehr and Bell Gehrt in a time of 4:26.17.
Emma Thatcher would earn a first place finish in the 800 meter run with a time of 2:46.35 and Rachel Fehr earned first place in the 400 meter run with her :59.80 clocking.
The Lady Wolverines’ Shuttle Hurdle Relay would earn a fourth place finish with a time of 1:21.40 for the quartet of Brook Haley, Kylee Thilges, Tori Fogarty and Ashlyn Banwart.
The 4×200 relay of Kara Fehr, Kayla Hoskins, Monika Gehrt and Bell Gehrt would also earn a fourth place finish in a time of 2:02.60 and in the 400 meter hurdles, Ashlyn Banwart finished in fourth place with a time of 1:17.45.
The Sprint Medley relay group of Kylee Thilges, Brook Haley, Kara Fehr and Kayla Hoskins would earn a sixth place finish in a time of 2:13. 11 and Kara Fehr earned sixth place in the 200 meter dash with her :31.96 effort.
‘Like most second meets, after it is over you still have more questions than answers,”?noted West Bend-Mallard/Gilmore City- Bradgate ?Head Coach Eldon McKimmey. “There was a strong south wind that caused difficulties with my younger squad. We were able to run four events,, two relays and two opens. The middle distance runners ran well and Emma Thatcher and Rachel Fehr really had a fine meet.”
