E-Hawks Set New Record At ELC
ESTHERVILLE – Emmetsburg’s E-Hawks earned a fifth place finish in their first meet of the week Monday at Estherville. Coach Tyler Beving’s squad set a new Emmetsburg and new Estherville Lincoln Central Meet record in the Sprint Medley.
The relay, comprised of Niklas Kulms, Blake VerMulm, Zach Foxhoven and Nick Schany, would win the event with a finish in1:39.70.
In other finishes, Blake VerMulm took second in the 100 meter dash in :11.52 and Ethan Berven was 11th in :12.47. In the 200 meter dash, VerMulm again placed second in :23.31 for the E-Hawks. Dawson Moen placed seventh in the 800 meter run in 2:14.97 and Adam Deitering was 11th with a 2:34.77 time. Cruz Bowman placed fourth in the 1600 meter run in 5:09.27.
Niklas Kulms won the 110 high hurdles in a time of :15.93 and then took third in the 400 meter hurdles, in 1:01.31..
The 4×100 relay placed sixth in 1:40.48 and the 4×400 was eighth in 3:59.34. The 4×800 finished sixth in 9:27.55 and placed ninth in the Distance Medley relay with a time of 4:29.35.
In field events, Zach Foxhoven won the event clearing 6′. In the long jump, Niklas Kulms was fourth with a jump fo 18’8.5″, while Ethan Berven placed eighth with a leap of 17’11”.
Nick Schany would earn fifth place in the shot put, throwing 44’5″ and Jimmie Steffens threw 36’11.25″ to place tenth.
In the discus, Jacob Meyer would throw 115’9″ and Flavio Panci placed 11th with a throw of 65’8″
For the E-Hawk Junior Varsity, Parker Shulte was seventh in the 100 meter dash in :13.57 and Hunter Murphy placed tenth in :13.99.For the 200 meter dash, Spencer Griffin was seventh in :27.08 and Hunter Murphy placed ninth in a time of:28.65.
Jackson Lowman was fifth in the 400 meter dash in 1:29.01 and in the 800 meter run, Jacob Frields was sixth in 3:03.09 and Jackson Lowman was seventh in 3:50.54.
In the 400 hurdles, Jose Alcala won the event in 1:05.80 and Jonah Hackbart-Morlock finished seventh in 1:08.99.
The JV?4×100 was sixth in :52.39 and the 4×200 relay placed fourth in 1:53.96. The 4×400 relay finished in fifth in 4:17.57 and the Distance Medley relay was second in 4:51.56.
For the long jump, Cole Shirk finished third with a jump of 17′ and Parker Shulte finished sixth jumping 15’8″.
Jon Lace II finished ninth in the shot put with a throw of 32’8″ to close out the effort.
