GT/RA Thinclads Open Season At Spirit Lake

SPIRIT?LAKE – The Titan boys track team of Graettinger-Terril/Ruthven-Ayrshire finished 11th in their first outdoor meet of the season on Thursday, April 12 at Spirit Lake.

Leading off for the Titans was Nate Larson in the 100 meter dash with an :11.72 time for a fifth place finish, while Brock Grimm placed 20th in a time of :13.28. In the 200 meter dash, Jace Naig was 19th in :26.65 and Cody Smith finished 21st in :27.47. I the 400 meter dash, Kadin Norris finished ninth in :59.24 for the Titans. Chris Conlon would earn fourth place in the 800 meter run with a time of 2:13.92.

The Titans’ 4×100 relay squad, comprised of Nate Larson, Jacob Conlon, Spencer Roth and Kolton Roth, would turn in a :$6.87 clocking to earn seventh place in the event,

In the 4×400 relay, the foursome of Jace Naig, Spencer Roth, Cameron Johnson and Kadin Norris would finish in 11th place overall with their time of 4:03.990.

For the 4×800 relay squad of Kolton Roth, Kadin Norris, Cameron Johnson and Chris Conlon, a third place finish was te result of a 9:06.57 clocking.

Graettinger-Terril/Ruthven-Ayrshire’s Distance Medley squad, made up of Nate Larson, Kolton Roth, Chris Conlon and Jacob Conlon, would come home in fourth place overall with their time of 3:54.99.

In field events, the Titans would earn a sixth place finish in the shot put competition from Shea Royster, who came away with a heave of 43’5″, while his teammate Ian Derrickson, would place 20th overall by throwing the orb 31’8.5″.

Rounding out the field events was the discus, where Shea Royster placed 17th, throwing the platter 95’4″ and Ian Derrickson finished 20th with his throw of 87’3″.

The Titans are also battling postponements and cancellations like other squads this season, but are slated to compete this Friday, April 20, at the Hawk Relays at Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn, weather permitting.
