Lady E-Hawks Open Season At Dordt Indoor Meet
SIOUX?CENTER – The track and field season began last Monday for Emmetsburg’s Lady E-Hawks with an appearance at the Dordt High School Invitational. With a limited lineup, the Lady E-Hawks were able to compete in several events and record some good starting times to build on their upcoming season.
In the 55 meter dash, Maggie Nelson would finish 15th in :09.02 and Jessica Walker was 16th in :0904, while Marie Trewin was 26th in :09.36.
For the 200 meter dash, Mackenzie King won the event in :29.38, while Allison Fischer was 15th in :32.59 and Marie Trewin was 23rd in a time of :34.93.
Moving to the 800 meter run, Allison Fischer placed ninth in 3:02.81, while Jessica Walker placed 13th in 3:06.93, while Marie Trewin finished 17th in 3:24.68.
Izzy Householder would earn a 14th place finish in the 1500 meter run with a time of 6:12.17 for the Lady E-Hawks.
Moving to the 55 meter hurdle event, Brielle Madden would earn an eighth place finish with her :10.42 clocking, while Macy McAllister finished 11th with a :10.55 effort and Delaney Joyce earned a 15th place finish with a :10.79 clocking.
For the 200 meter hurdle event, Emmetsburg’s team of Delaney Joyce, Taylor Steinkamp, Abbie Schany and Mackenzie King earned fourth place with a 1:59.49 time.
The 4×400 relay squad of Macy McAllister, Taylor Steinkamp, Abbie Schany and Mackenzie King would finish second with a 4:31.20 clocking, while a second relay comprised of Maggie Nelson, Marie Trewin, Allison Fischer and Izzy Householder, placed 13th in 5:04.39.
The 4×800 relay of Abbie Schany, Mackenzie King, Izzy Householder and Taylor Steinkamp would earn second place honors with their time of 11:07.76.
In field events, Abbie Schany placed seventh in the shot put, throwing 29’9″, while Kady Traub placed 12th, throwing 28′ and Alex Johnson earned a 23rd place finish in the shotput, throwing the orb 21′ to round out the efforts.
