Wolverine Boys Split Contests

WEST?BEND – The Wolverines of West Bend-Mallard/Gilmore City-Bradgate split a pair of games at week’s end to improve to 1-7 in league play and 3-9 overall.

Thursday night, the Wolverines defeated Clay Central-Everly by a 63-51 tally. WBM/GCB would trail 12-11 after one quarter, and 26-27 at the half, but edged out to a 44-39 advantage to start the final quarter and went on to earn the 63-51 margin of victory.

For the Wolverines, Cole Hoskins led the effort with 20 points, while Danie Riesenberg added 12 points and Noah Fehr scored 11 points. Nick Ford and Thomas Fehr both chipped in six points each, while Thad Fogarty added five points and Mason Link chipped in three points.

But the following evening, the Wolverines would be shut down by Graettinger-Terril/Ruthven-Ayrshire in a 69-36 setback.

WBM/GCB would trail 18-12 after one quarter of play and 40-15 at the half. In the third quarter, GT/RA would edge out to a 58-25 lead and cruised to the 69-36 final victory.

In the effort, the Wolverines got 15 points from Danie Riesenberg and nine points from Cole Hoskins. Thomas Fehr, Mason Link and Hunter Buhs all scored three points each, while Nick Ford added two points and Ian Montag added a free throw for one point to close out the effort.
