Titan Boys Collect Pair Of Wins
GRAETTINGER – The Graettinger-Terril/Ruthven-Ayrshire Titans collected a pair of wins in boys basketball action last week. On Tuesday, the Titans defeated Alta-Aurelia by a 61-54 tally and on Friday, won a 69-36 win over West Bend-Mallard/Gilmore City-Bradgate. The wins improve the Titans to 9-5 overall and 5-2 in the Twin Lakes Conference.
Tuesday, the Titans would trail 7-8 after one quarter and 25-29 at the half, but in the third quarter, took a 34-32 lead at the end of the third quarter and then outscored the Warriors 27-21 in the final quarter for the 61-54 win. Jacob Conlon led the way with 16 points, while Chris Conlon added 15 tallies and Tom Geelan scored 11 points. Brady Rosacker added 10 points, with Tyson Kruse scoring seven points and Koy Bakken added two points.
Friday night, the Titans hosted the Wolverines of West Bend-Mallard/Gilmore City-Bradgate and earned a 69-36 win in the contest.
The Titans would take an 18-12 lead after the opening quarter, and then outscored WBM/GCB by a 22-3 tally in the second quarter for a 40-15 advantage at the intermission.
In the third quarter, the Titans added 18 points to their tally for a 58-25 lead and both teams scored 11 points in the final stanza for the 69-36 final score.
Leading the effort was Jacob Conlon’s 24 points, while Tom Geelan came away with 17 points. Kadin Norris, Chris Conlon and Tyson Kruse all scored six points each, while Brady Rosacker added five points. Koy Bakken would come away with three points and Shea Royster rounded out the effort with two points for the Titans.
