Titan Cagers Fall To Okoboji In Doubleheader
TERRIL – The Titan hoopsters of Graettinger-Terril/Ruthven-Ayrshire dropped a pair of non-conference games to Okoboji Monday night.
The Titan girls would fall to the Pioneers by a 33-26 final in a low-scoring contest. The Titans led 5-4 after the opening quarter, but both teams scored seven points each in the second frame for a 12-11 GT/RA lead at the break.
In the third quarter, Okoboji took the lead, 22-19 and would outscore the Titans 11-6 in the final frame for the 33-25 final.
Graettinger-Terril/Ruth-ven Ayrshire was led by the nine points of Madison Hough, while Toni Alesch added seven points. Emma Heinrichs scored four points, while Taylor Park and Anna Sorenson both tallied three points in the effort.
The boys contest saw GT/RA fall by a 56-48 final tally after both teams battled to a 7-7 tie after one quarter. Okoboji outscored the Titans 15-8 in the second frame for a 22-15 lead at the intermission. In the second half, Okoboji would outscore the Titans 15-9 in the third frame, but GT/RA came clawing back in the final quarter, outscoring the Pioneers 24-10, but it was too little too late as Okoboji escaped with the 56-48 win.
Tom Geelan led the Titans with 18 points while Brady Rosacker added 11 tallies. Jacob Conlon would come away with nine points, while Tyson Kruse and Kadin Norris would both score five points each in the final effort.
The Titan boys move to 4-4 overall and 2-0 in league play while the girls are 503 overall ad 0-2 in the league.
