Lady E-Hawks Close Regular Season With Win

Emmetsburg’s Lady E-Hawks celebrated Pink Out Night successfully Thursday night with a 3-1 win over Storm Lake in volleyball action. The win closes the regular season at 8-16 for Emmetsburg, and 4-7 in Twin Lakes Conference play.

Emmetsburg would win the match by game scores of 25-19, 25-12, 20-25 and 15-18.

Molly Schany had a banner night with 40 attacks and 19 kills, along with a dig and a blocked shot. Parker Traub was close behind with 35 attacks and 10 kills, as well as nine digs, 18 of 19 serves with one ace and 23 assists to her teammates.

Abbie Schany would come away with 17 attacks and one kills, but added nine digs and one blocked shot. Emma Anderson added 11 attacks with three kills, as well as two assists, three digs and a blocked shot.

Gretchen Hofstad would make nine attacks and had one kill, with 11 digs, a blocked shot and 15 of 16 serves with one ace. Morgan Jamison added eight attacks with one kill, two digs and connected on 12 of 13 serves.

Macy McAllister made two attacks with one kill, and dug out nine shots while handing out 10 assists and was perfect serving with 11 of 11 attempts and one ace.

Lindsay Carter would dig out 17 shots and added an assist while connecting gon 15 of 15 serves with two aces. Brielle Madden would dig out four shots and completed 19 of her 20 serving attempts with three aces.

In the Junior Varsity match, Emmetsburg would fall 1-2, by game scores of 25-18, 10-25 and 10-25. The Lady E-Hawk Freshmen would fall to Storm Lake by scores of 21-25 and 20-25.

Emmetsburg will play tonight (Tuesday) in pool play of the Twin Lakes Conference Tournament. Emmetsburg will travel to Alta to play both Alta-Aurelia and St. Mary’s of Storm Lake. The Lady E-Hawks will play Alta-Aurelia at 5:30 p.m. and then play St, Mary’s at 6:45 p.m. Tuesday night.

The finals of the Twin Lakes Conference tournament will be played Thursday night, Oct. 12, at Laurens with play starting at 5:30 p.m.
