Bob Brennan Football Challenge Registration Opens

By Staff | Mar 24, 2017

Registrations are currently underway for the Second Annual Bob Brennan Football , which will take place on Saturday, June 24, at Bob Brennan Field in Emmetsburg. The event is being sponsored once again by the Emmetsburg E-Hawk Flag Football Program.

The event began last year when the former Emmetsburg Middle School Football Field was officially re-named Bob Brennan Field in memory of long-time Emmetsburg resident Bob Brennan, who served the community in many capacities during his life, as well as being an outstanding football player in his youth.

The Bob Brennan Challenge features four different events: a Root-Hog Lineman Challenge, which is designed to challenge linemen with dexterity and agility drills.

The Five-On-Five Challenge will feature five-man squads in grades five through eight, while the High School Seven-On-Seven Passing Challenge will feature seven-player squads engaged in a passing scrimmage. The final component of the Bob Brennan Challenge is the Place Kicking contest, where athletes will test their kicking skills.

All events will take place on Saturday, June 24, starting at 8 a.m. with the five on five Challenge, and will be followed by the High School Seven-on-Seven challenge at 12:30 p.m. The Place Kicking and Lineman Roothog Challenges will take place throughout the morning hours.

Registrations are now open and available by contacting the E-Hawk Flag Football Program or Rick Brennan at Iowa Trust and Savings Bank in Emmetsburg. Registration can be mailed to Rick Brennan at P.O. Box 159, Emmetsburg, IA, 50536.

Registrations will be accepted on the day of the event, but space is limited and participants are encouraged to register early.
