Twin Lakes Honors Trio Of Local Players

A trio of area girls were honored with inclusion on the 2017 Twin Lakes Conference All Conference Basketball Teams. Madison Norris and Toni Alesch of Graettinger-Terril/Ruthven-Ayrshire and Taylor Fogarty of West Bend-Mallard/Gilmore City-Bradgate were all named to the elite teams by the league’s coaches at the conclusion of the season.

For the Titans of GT/RA, junior Madison Norris was named to the Second Team All Conference squad. Norris would play in 22 games and scored 216 points, making 68 of 215 two-point shots for 31.6 percent shooting and 24 of 122 three-point shots for 27.9 percent shooting, while making 46 of 75 free throws for 61.3 percent accuracy and an average of 9.8 points per game. Madison dished out 58 assists, made 47 steals and blocked 10 shots, while grabbing 17 offensive and 56 defensive rebounds for 73 carroms, an average of 3.3 per contest.

Sophomore Toni Alesch earned a berth on the Third Team All Conference squad for the Titans. Alesch was the team’s second-leading scorer, with 227 points off 83 of 232 two-point shots for 35.8 percent accuracy, and 20 of 88 three-point shots for 22.7 percent accuracy, with 41 of 68 free throws for 60.3 percent accuracy and an average of 10.3 points per game. Toni dished out 26 helpers to her teammates, but made 85 steals and blocked 16 shots, while adding 32 offensive boards and 47 defensive boards to total 79 rebounds, an average of 3.6 per contest in 22 games.

Additionally the Titans had 10 girls earn recognition on the Academic All Conference Team. Honorees must achieve a 3,25 grade point average and be a letter winner. Titan players named to the Academic Honor squad were Emma Feldhacker, Becky Noah, Taylor Park, Anna Sorenson, Madison Norris, Toni Alesch, Emma Heinrichs, Kylea Fehr, Chloe Bakken and Madison Hough.

The Lady Wolverines of WBM/GCB were represented by senior Taylor Fogarty on the Third Team All Conference Squad. Fogarty would play 20 games during the season and tallied 238 points to lead the Lady Wolverines, connecting on 85 of 232 attempts from inside the arc, 36.6 percent shooting and five of 22 three-pointers for 22.7 percent accuracy, while adding 63 of 94 free throws for 67 percent shooting, an average of 11.6 points per game. Taylor would hand out nine assists, made 20 steals and blocked 10 shots, while grabbing 60 offensive and 116 defensive rebounds for a total of 176 boards to lead West Bend-Mallard/Gilmore City-Bradgate with an average of 8.8 boards per contest.
