GT/RA Hoopsters Playing Hard In Contests
Graettinger-Terril/Ruthven-Ayrshire’s Titan basketball teams have had a busy two weeks on the courts due to weather and re-scheduling, starting with a split against Sioux Central on Jan. 9.
The Titan girls won a 71-65 decision and were led by the 22-point effort of Toni Alesch and the15 point efforts of Madison Norris and Madison Hough. Taylor Park added seven markers and Emma Heinrichs scored two points.
The Titan boys would fall 66-57 to the Rebels, with Tom Geelan leading the effort with 22 points, while Jacob Conlon added 17 points and Eric Sundall scored 11 markers.
Weather kept the Titans off the court until Jan. 13, when they hosted Pocahontas Area/Laurens-Marathon.
The Titan girls would fall 81-26 to the Indians. Emma Heinrichs would lead the scoring with seven points, while Toni Alesch scored six points and Madison Norris added five points.
The outcome was much the same for the GT/RA?boys, as they fell to the Indians by a 70-52 score.
GT/RA would get 20 points from Jacob Conlon and 16 points from Tom Geelan, along with 10 points from Eric Sundall and five points from Brady Rosacker in the loss.
Saturday, Jan. 14, the Titans played East Sac County, earning a split as the girls earned a 48-38 win. A trio of players scored 10 points each in the win, as Madison Norris, Toni Alesch and Madison Hough all tallied 10 points each and Taylor Park added six markers.
The boys contest saw Graettinger-Terril/Ruthven-Ayrshire fall by a 63-43 final tally. Tom Geelan led the effort for the Titans with 12 points, while Jacob Conlon scored 11 points and Eric Sundall added nine points.
