Area Dance Squads Compete At State Dance Team Competition

The Emmetsburg Dance team is comprise of Allison Freeman, Sarah Pugh, Shelby Loomis, Natalee Lowe, Kaitlyn Jamison, Hannah Adams, Emily Fuller and Abby Berkland. Sierra Elbert is the Emmetsburg coach.
Members of the West Bend-Mallard/Gilmore City-Bradgat Pacesetters squad are: Olivia Collins, Callie Dickey, Jessica Morey, Emma Thatcher, Ashlyn Banwart, Megan Studer, Mia Auten, Zoey Zeller, Kallie Eggers, Ciera Bennum, Paige Gambell and Kylie Bonnstetter. Coach of the Pacesetters is Amber Vonnahme.
The Titanettes members are Emily Chicoine, Mackenzie DePyper, Meaghan Dahna, Morgan Stearns, Tori Hampson, Morgan Hellyer, Samantha Harris, Kaitlyn Moran, Kady Feldhacker and Arielle Roth. Coach of the Titanetts is Nicole Jungers.

High School dance squads from Emmetsburg, Graettinger-Terril/Ruthven-Ayrshire and West Bend-Mallard/Gilmore City-Bradgate traveled to Des Moines last week to compete in the 2016 Iowa State Dance Team Championships. The event was held at the Wells Fargo Arena and Iowa Events Center in Des Moines.

The competitions took place last Thursday and Friday, Dec. 1 and 2 in various classes and competitions.

The Emmetsburg Dance Squad competed in Class VI Pom and Class VI?Novelty Dance. Emmetsburg would earn a fifth place finish for their Pom routine.

The Pacesetters of West Bend-Mallard/Gilmore City-Bradgate competed in Pom routine and Small School Military competitions. At the conclusion of the competitions, the Pacesetters received First Place in Class One Pom, and earned third place for their Military routine.

The Graettinger-Terril/Ruthven-Ayrshire Titanettes competed in Class One Hip-Hop and Class One Novelty competitions. For their efforts, the Titanettes received second place in Pom routine and earned a fourth place finish with their Novelty dance.
