The Iowa Lakes Cross Country teams completed in the Grand View Invitational on Sept. 16 and at the Buena Vista Invite on Saturday, Sept. 24.

The Grand View event was moved to Indianola on a hilly, wet, muddy course. Even with less then ideal conditions Iowa Lakes ran very well.

The course was a 6K course and Iowa Lakes was led by Nick Grandstaff, as he placed 32nd in 22:28.

“This is as comfortable as I have seen Nick run this year,” noted Laker Coach David Peterson. “His conditioning is improving and its helping his race times.”

Last Saturday the Lakers would run at the Buena Vista Invitational in Storm Lake. The men would run an 8K event.,

Once again, Emmetsburg native Nick Grandstaff paced the Laker men, as he finished in 31st place with a finishing time of 31:44.

Next action for the Iowa Lakes Community College Cross Country team will be Saturday, Oct. 8, when they compete in the Briar Cliff Invitational in Sioux City.
