After starting the district campaign last Friday night with a 3-0 win over Sibley-Ocheyedan on the road, Emmetsburg’s E-Hawks return home this Friday night to continue district play.

The assignment this Friday is not enviable in any sense of the word – Emmetsburg hosts the Wolfpack of Western Christian High School, a playoff team from last season.

The Wolfpack are not strangers to the E-Hawks, as the two teams have met on numerous occasions in the past.

“Western Christian will play out of the spread offense,” noted Emmetsburg Head Coach Mike Dunlap. “The have tremendous athletic ability across the board, with great size and speed.”

The size and speed carries through for the Wolfpack on their defense, which works out of a 6-2 scheme, according to Dunlap.

“Last week, teamwise, it was a good win for us,”?Dunlap noted. “I was happy with our effort for the most part. We had a few missed assignments on offense, but our defense played really well.”

Dunlap continued, “We have to continue to improve in all aspects of our game, play assignment football on and eliminate the mental mistakes.”
