Fall Sports Preview Night Set For This Friday
School athletics will get their first chance to see what the football and volleyball teams will offer for the coming season this Friday evening, Aug. 12, with the annual Sports Drink Scrimmages. Scrimmages for both the Lady E-Hawk Volleyball team and the E-Hawk Football teams will take place along with a BBQ meal and parent/athlete meetings at the High School.
The activities will get underway at 4:30 p.m. with the annual Football BBQ meal in the High School commons. The meal will be served from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m.
From 6 to 6:30 p.m., Coach Jessica Bieber and the Lady E-Hawk volleyball teams will scrimmage in the High School gym, and at the conclusion of the scrimmage, players will be introduced to the public. Meetings for the parents and student athletes in each of the Fall Sports, along with cheerleaders, will take place at 6:30 p.m. with individual sports meetings beginning at 7 p.m.
At 7:40 p.m., the activities will move to Duane Twait Field for the introduction of Coach Valerie Pickett and the 2016 E-Hawk and Lady E-Hawk Cross Country Teams.
Head Coach Mike Dunlap and the E-Hawk Football program take the center stage starting at 7:45 p.m. with a scrimmage for the E-Hawk Freshman squad, which will be followed by the E-Hawk Sophomores at 8:05 p.m. The E-Hawk varsity team will then scrimmage for two quarters beginning at 8:45 p.m. to round out the evening’s activities.
Admission to the scrimmages will be a bottle of sports drink for each person attending. The sports drinks are then used by the teams following contests during the season. The public is invited to come out for a first look at the E-Hawks and Lady E-Hawks for 2016 this Friday night.
