Connelly To NJCAA Nationals
Iowa Lakes golfer Ashton Connelly is preparing to tee it up Monday, May 16, at the LPGA International Golf Course in Daytona Beach, Florida, in the 2016 NJCAA Women’s National Golf Tournament. She is the 21st national qualifier in Iowa Lakes Women’s Golf program history and is the 43rd qualifier in the last 21 years.
Connelly enters the national tournament with an overall scoring average of 90. Iowa Lakes Head Coach Andy Soper is pleased to see Connelly compete at the national level.”Ashton is a great competitor, she has competed at the highest level before in high school and now gets to do so in college, this is a great accomplishment,” commented Soper. “She continues to get better each day. She is going to get to do something very special with representing Iowa Lakes at the National level and I’m happy to watch her play.”
“I’m very excited to be able to go to Florida for Nationals to compete against the best competitors in the nation” said Connelly.
The NJCAA National Golf Tournament is a 72 hole tournament spanning over four days.
Ashton Connelly is a freshman at Iowa Lakes and is a 2015 Emmetsburg High School graduate.
