E-Hawk Golfers Earn Wins On Links

Emmetsburg’s E-Hawk golfers picked up a pair of wins last week on the links. On Monday, the E-Hawks defeated Algona by a 171-187 tally at Algona and on Thursday, the E-Hawks earned a pair of Lakes Conference victories with wins over LeMars and Cherokee at the Five Island Golf Course.

On Monday, Emmetsburg’s Hunter McAllister earned medalist honors with a round of 38, while teammate Clayton Freeman was runner up with a 39 stroke round. Other scores for the E-Hawks included a 45 for Nate Schiek, a 49 for Matt Kibbie, a 52 for Isaac Embrock and a round of 56 for Will Schany.

In the Junior Varsity match, Emmetsburg shot a 213 to Algona’s 193. For Emmetsburg, Calvin Hart shot a 49, while Brennan Duhn carded a 52. Adam Berkland shot a 53, while Scott Fitzgerald shot a 59 and Zach Mason carded a 67.

Returning home to the Five Island Links on Thursday, Emmetsburg shot a 164 to defeat Cherokee with a 166 and LeMars with a 167 in a highly competitive triangular.

Cherokee’s Mason Pitts would earn the Medalist honors with a round of 36, while Cameron Rol of LeMars was runner up with a 39.

Emmetsburg would be led by Clayton Freeman, who shot a 39, while Hunter McAllister carded a round of 40. Matt Kibbie would shoot a 41, while Nate Schiek shot a round of 44. Isaac Embrock carded a 48, while Will Schany shot a round of 51 to round out the varsity efforts.

In the JV match, Emmetsburg shot a 203, while LeMars shot a 204 and Cherokee shot a 244.

Calvin Hart led the JV?with a 47, while Adam Berkland, Zach Mason and Jordan Ruff all shot rounds of 52 and Brennan Duhn shot a 56.
