E-Hawk Thinclads Run Well At ELC, North Union Meets

Emmetsburg’s E-Hawks are improving in each outing as they get into the heart of the track and field season. Solid performances in meets last Friday and Monday are buoying the E-Hawks as the season progresses.

In action at the Estherville Relays last Friday, The E-Hawks’ Distance Medley relay won in Class B with a time of 4:00.87. Dalton Connelly earned second in the 100 hurdles with his time of :17.43. Nick Grandstaff also picked up a second place finish in the 3200 meter run with a time of 11:02.00.

The E-Hawks’ Shuttle Hurdle relay took second in 1:07.63 and the 4×100 relay took second with a time of :46.91, while the 4×200 relay also finished second with a time of 1:37.69.

Cruz Bowman earned third in the 1600 meter run with a time of 5:14.99, while Nick Grandstaff took third in the high jump, clearing 5’4″. AJ?Krieg finished third in the long jump, leaping 18’4″ and Connor Joyce would place fourth in the high jump, clearing 5’2″ while Ethan Berven took fourth in the long jump, leaping 18’2.5″.

Grant Deitering finished fourth in the 200 meter dash in :24.86 and Cruz Bowman was fourth in the 3200 meter run in 11:14.00. Ethan Bervan took fourth in the 400 meter dash in :57.35 and Blake VerMulm placed fifth in the 400 meter dash in :57.49.

AJ Krieg took fifth in the 100 meter dash with a :12.13 clocking and the E-Hawks 4×800 relay placed fifth in a time of 10:28.00 while the 4×400 relay was fifth in 4:21.43.

Dalton Connelly took sixth in the 400 hurdles in 1:06.45 and Jacob Myers was sixth in the discus with a throw of 101’11”. Max Dunlap took seventh in the shot with a throw of 38’6″ and Brent Wesley took seventh in the 100 meter dash with a :12.30 clocking.

Dawson Carlson was ninth in the 800 meter run in 2:29.00 and Chris Nichols finished 10th in the 800 meter run in 2:33.00, while Nick Schany took 10th in the shot put with a 35’6″ throw. Kyle Licht closed out the varsity efforts with a discus throw of 74’8″.

On Monday, the E-Hawks journeyed to Armstrong to run in the Godfreson-Elliott Relays where they placed fourth.

Highlighting the outing was AJ?Krieg’s win in the long jump, as he placed first with a leap of 17’9″.

Dalton Connelly took second in the 110 hurdles in :17.40, while Aaron Hutchison finished third in the 200 meter dash in :24.32.

The E-Hawks 4×200 relay took third in 1:39.89 while the 4×400 relay finished third in 3:57.48. The Distance Medley took fourth place with a 4:12.86 and the 4×100 finished fourth in :48.63.

Cruz Bowman was fourth in the 3200 meter run in 11:29.16 and Dalton Connelly took fourth in the 400 hurderls in 1:05.02. Connor Joyce placed fourth in the high jump, clearing 5’4″ and AJ?Krieg placed fourth in the 100 meter dash in :12.16.

The E-Hawks’ 4×800 relay took fifth place in 10:29.56, while Ethan Berven placed fifth in the long jump, leaping 16’5″. Blake VerMulm was fifth in the 400 meter dash in :56.91, while Dawson Carlson took sixth in the 1600 meter run in 5:38.08.

Zach Yates tied for sixth in the high jump after clearing 5’2″ and Connor Joyce earned seventh in the 400 hurldes with a 1:11.10 clocking and Jacob Myers took seventh i nthe iscus with a throw of 100’4″.

Spencer Griffin placed eighth in th e400 meter dash in :59.73 and Cruz Bowman was eighth in the 800 meter run in 2:23.81. Adam Deitering took eighth in the 3200 meter run with a 12:38.86 clocking, while Max Dunlap placed ninth in the shot put with a throw of 37’5″. Spencer Griffin placed tenth in the 200 meter dash in :27.46, while Kyle Licht placed 11th in the discus with a throw of 83’7″. Zach Yates placed 12th in the 100 meter dash in :13.70, while Adam Deitering was 13th in the 800 meter run in 2:37.59 and Aidan Leuer was 13th in the shot put, throwing 27’5.5″.
