ORANGE?CITY – The Iowa Lakes Men’s Golf Team was in action Thursday during the Northwestern Red Raider Spring Tournament. The tournament was held at Landsmeer Golf Course in 40 Degree Temps and 25-35 mph winds.

The Lakers shot 315 where they finished tied for third out of 10 teams mostly consisting of four-year schools.

Iowa Lakes was led by Jordan Henry shooting a 76, Michael Pugh shot a 77. Zach Elgersma came in with an 80 and Matt Bennett shot an 82. Non-counting score was Jacob Baker’s 89. Individually Michael Myers shot an 81.

“I feel like we had a good tournament overall finishing 3rd in a tough field,” noted Laker Head Coach Dan Soper. “Guys battled and grinded through the bad weather. We need all 5 guys to be able to do that. When the weather isn’t ideal we have to find a way to get around the course and get the job done. We have a break now where we can practice and really sharpen up our games.”

Next action for the Lakers will be April 17th and 18th when the Laker Men and Women will compete in the Region 11 Preview held at Lake Panorama National Golf Course in Panora, IA.
