St. Pat’s Trapshoot Sunday

The Palo Alto Gun Club will once again sponsor its’ annual St. Pat’s Open Trap Shoot this Sunday, March 20. The event will take place at the Sportsmans’ Park club grounds, north of Cylinder. Shooting will get underway at 12 noon.

For the day’s event, one trap house will be open for standard American trap shooting. A 50-round competition program will be open to youth and adult divisions, as well as open trap for practice rounds.

Additionally, a five-station trap course will be set up for an alternative competition. A five-station trap course offers shooters a variety of target presentations – both singles and doubles.

Both ranges will be open for shooting at 12 noon on Sunday.

This event signals the official opening of the spring trap shooting season, with Emmetsburg Middle School and High School Hot Shots trap shooting teams starting their practices on Tuesday March 22.

The Iowa Lakes Community College Lakers Trap Shooting Team has already started practices in preparation for their spring season.
