E-Hawks Edged At Storm Lake

STORM?LAKE – Emmetsburg’s E-Hawks came up a point short in a valiant battle against Storm Lake Friday night, falling by a 66-65 final score. The E-Hawks got off to a slow start, trailing 26-18 at the end of the first quarter and then scored just 13 points in the second frame to trail 44-31 at the intermission.

But in the second half, Emmetsburg found their offense and the defense stepped it up as they outscored Storm Lake 16-9 in the third quarter and 18-13 in the fourth quarter, but ran out of time for a final shot that could have won the contest.

For Emmetsburg, Wes Schultes had 15 points, while Thomas Schultes added 14 points and Dalton Connelly chipped in 13 points. Max Dunlap added nine points, while Blake VerMulm had eight markers. Brent Wesley would add four points and Cameron Heddinger rounded out the scoring with two points.
