Titans Sweep Wolverines In County Meeting

GRAETTINGER – The Titan girls and boys of Graettinger-Terril/Ruthven-Ayrshire swept the evening’s slate against West Bend-Mallard/Gilmore City-Bradgate on Friday night in basketball action.

The Titan girls picked up a 47-23 win over the Lady Wolverines after leading the entire contest.

GT/RA?would double up WBM/GCB in the opening quarter for a 12-6 lead and played good defense for an 18-9 halftime lead. In the second half, the Lady Wolverines would struggle to get their offense to flow as the Titans would take a 24-14 lead after three quarters of play and opened the game up in the final stanza to take the 47-23 win.

For GT/RA, Maddy Norris had 14 points and Toni Alesch added 13 points, while Taylor Park and Emma Heinrichs both added six markers each. Anna Sorenson and Emma Feldhacker both added four points to the effort.

For the Lady Wolverines, Tayler Fogarty led the effort with 13 points, while Taylor Elbert added four points. Anna Zaugg, Trissa Schmit and Leah Fehr all added two points.

The boys contest was a fast paced affair with both teams moving up and down the court, but the host Titans would take the early 20-11 lead after the opening frame. A full-court defense would allow GT/RA to extend their lead to 45-20 at the intermission.

The Wolverines battled hard in the second half, but couldn’t counter the pressing defense, as they would trail 68-36 going into the final quarter. GT/RA would put the reserves in to close out the game for the 79-48 win.

The Titans got 19 points form Noah Stukey, 15 points from Michael Girres and 14 points from Taylor Enderson, while Andy Geelan racked up the triple-double with 10 points, 11 rebounds and 13 assists.

Nick Josephson added seven points and Marshall Broadie chipped in two points.

For the Wolverines, Nolan Robert Dahlhauser led the effort with 19 points, while Jack Banwart added 12 points. Danie Riesenberg would score eight points, while Taylor Bennett added six points and Jeff Riesenberg added two points.
