ALGONA – Emmetsburg’s Lady E-Hawks put their skills to a preliminary test Tuesday night in a scrimmage at Bishop Garrigan High School.

Coach Anne Fiene’s Lady E-Hawks would score a pair of quick buckets to start out in their two-quarter scrimmage against Bishop Garrigan. Midway through the first quarter, Emmetsburg trailed by a point, 6-5 but Garrigan would find an offensive spark and outscored Emmetsburg 12-2 to lead 17-7 at the end of the first quarter.

The Lady E-Hawks would get some looks at the bucket in the second quarter, but a clinging defense by Bishop Garrigan forced numerous turnovers that would allow the Golden Bears to take a 26-9 win over Emmetsburg in the scrimmage.

For Emmetsburg, Bailey Naig drained a three pointer for three points, while Kate Jackson, Kaity Mason and Jordan Hoyman all tallied two points each.

The Lady E-Hawks will scrimmage in Storm Lake this Saturday for a Jamboree before starting their regular season on Tuesday, December 1 at Pocahontas Area.
