Harriers Run Well At Eagle Grove Invite

EAGLE?GROVE – The cross country campaign continued last Tuesday for Emmetsburg’s Cross Country teams at the Eagle Grove Invitational. The event was another successful outing for the E-Hawk Harriers at all levels.

For the Middle School girls, the season ended on a positive note as the girls won their division, finishing their season by winning every Middle School girls meet they competed in.

Raven Brown would win the event witha 12:57 time, while Gabrielle Janssen was fourth in 13:47.

Hailey Foxhoven set a new personal recored with a 13:47 to finish fifth and Izzy Householder finished sixth in 14:12,

Raylene Poeppe earned seventh place with a tie of 14:23, while Allison Fischer earned 14th place with her time of 15:00. Jamie Bird was 15th in 15:11 and Taylor Steinkamp finished 16th with a 15:11 clocking.

Kristen Davis earned 23rd place in 16:57, while Annie Brennan finished 25th in 17:19. Maggie Nelson earned 35th place in 18;51 and Isabel Nichols finished with a 20:14 clocking.

The Middle School boys would see Cade Jacobson finished fifth overall with a new personal record time of 13:10, while Michael King finished with a 14:26 clocking.

The Lady E-Hawk Varsity girls would finish second overall in the team standings, finishing behind West Fork. Emmetsburg would tally 68 points to West Fork’s 24 point effort.

For the Lady E-Hawks, Ashley Overberg set a new personal best time with her fourth place finishing effort of 20:53. Jordan Hoyman earned eighth place with a time of 21:56 and Jordan Lange finished 12th in a time of 22:50.

Mary Nelson earned a 15th place finish with a time of 23:05 and Shelby Loomis set a new personal best effort time of 24:45 to earn a 29th place finish. Hannah Merwald would finish in 31st place with a time of 24:46 and Kristen kassel rounded out the effort with a 49th place finish in a time of 32:14.

Emmetsburg E-Hawk varsity boys squad earned third place overall, finishing with 80 points, while Eagle Grove won the meet with 31 points and South Hamilton finished second with 45 points.

Leading the effort for the E-Hawk harriers was Cruz Bowman with a time of 17:26, a new personal record that earned him a sixth place finish.

Nick Grandstaff finished eighth with a time of 17:34. Adam Deitering set a new personal record with an 18:38 time for an 18th place finish, while Cole Jackson also set a new personal record with his 18:47 clocking that earned him 22nd place.

Nolan Greene finished in 26th place with a time of 19:14 and Daniel Groth finished 32nd in 19:30, while Aaron Hutchison rounded out the varsity efforts with a time of 19:46 to place 33rd overall.

In the boys Junior Varsity event, Silvan Hofer set a new personal record with a 19:51 clocking to finish 34th. Zach Mason ran a 19:54 for finish 35th and Takoda Harris finished 45th in a time of 20:41. Dalton Hauschen finished 46th in 20:44 and Alex Gray set a new personal record with a time of 20:49, good for a 48th place finish.

Other finishes for the E-Hawk Junior Varsity included a 22:00 time for Michael Frerichs and a 22:51 time for Marciano Reinbold, while Jordan Wiley finished with a 22:57 and Christian Strohman added a 22:59 and Eli Reichert finished with a :23.32.

The E-Hawk Varsity and Junior Varsity Runners complete today (Tuesday) in the Lakes Conference Cross Country Meet at the Estherville Golf Course. Action gets underway at 4:30 p.m.
