Titans Improve To 14-1

Graettinger-Terril/Ruthven -Ayrshire’s Titans improved their season mark to 14-1 after three wins last week.

Last Tuesday evening the Titans took a 70-24 win over Corwith-Wesley-LuVerne. The Titans would start a little slowly, taking a 16-7 lead after the opening quarter of play, and battled the Panthers in the second quarter, outscoring CWL 17-12 to take a 33-19 lead at the intermission. But in the second half, GT/RA found their defense and opened up the offense at the same time, limiting the Panthers to just five points in the third quarter, while the Titans scored 21 points to slip away to a 54-34 lead to start the final quarter. In the final eight minutes of play, the Titans would hold Corwith-Wesley-LuVerne scoreless and added 16 points to their tally for the 70-24 final margin of victory.

GT/RA was paced by Andy Geelan’s triple-double, as he racked up 27 points, grabbed 12 rebounds and dished out 10 assists to his teammates. Connor Sturgill tallied a double-double with 15 points and 12 rebounds to his credit. Mason McGrauth and Noah Stukey both added eight points each, while Jared Sikora chipped in five points. Nick Josephson came off the bench for three points, while Taylor Enderson and Lane Reiman both added two points each.

Friday night GT/RA took care of Clay Central-Everly by a 76-41 tally,

The Titans trailed 10-11 after the first quarter, but found their footing and took a 30-20 lead at the intermission of the contest. In the third quarter, GT/RA started to edge away from the Mavericks, posting a51-31 lead to start the final quarter and would go on to post the 76-41 final margin of victory.

Connor Sturgill would pace the offense with 18 points, while Andy Geelan added 12 points and Lane Reiman chipped in 11 markers. Taylor Enderson and Mason McGrauth both scored nine points each, while Nick Josephson added eight points. Noach Stukey chipped in seven points and Joe Tonderum added two points.

Playing on Saturday night, the Titans met up with Lake Mills and survived a heated battle to earn a 59-54 victory to improve to 14-1 on the season.

GT/RA would take a bucket’s lead, 14-12, at the end of the first quarter, and expanded the leat to a 32-24 margin at the intermission. But Lake Mills fought back in the third frame, cutting the lead to 44-42 before the teams traded shots in the final quarter before the Titans took the 59-54 win.

Andy Geelan led the Titans with 16 points and Connor Sturgill added 15 points, while Nick Josephson scored 10 points.

Taylor Enderson added six points, while Mason McGrauth and Noah Stukey both scored five points each and Lane Reiman came away with two points.
