V?Earns First Win

Emmetsburg’s Junior Varsity Boys collected their first win of the year in a 54-19 triumph over Harris-Lake Park on Monday, Dec. 16. The win gives Coach Phil Geelan’s squad a mark of 1-3 on the season.

Emmetsburg jumped out to a 22-9 lead at halftime and went on to take the 54-19 win as everyone got into the act in the victory.

Thomas Schultes led the effort with 11 points, while Jacob Kibbie added nine points while Greg Wesley and Christian Strohman both scored eight points each.

Cooper Hofstad tallied five points, with Wes Schultes adding four points. Nick Grandstaff and Clayton Freeman would both score three points, while Alex DeFord chipped in two points and Niels Witt added a free throw for one point.

The E-Hawks made of 17 of 46 shots from the two and four of 12 from outside the arc and grabbed 33 repounds in the win, while making 21 steals on defense.
