E-Hawks Falter In Non-Conference Tilt
A non-conference contest between Emmetsburg and the Wolves of Harris-Lake Park didn’t go well for the E-Hawks on Monday night. Emmetsburg wold come up short in a 53-37 loss to the Wolves to fall to 1-3 overall on the season.
The two clubs battled evenly through the first quarter, as Harris-Lake Park would lead by a digit, 10-9, at the close of the opening stanza. However, Emmetsburg would miss a couple of shots that allowed the Wolves to edge out to a 25-20 lead at the break.
In the third quarter, the two teams matched bucket for bucket, with each squad scoring nine points to leave the E-Hawks trailing 29-36 entering the final quarter.
But in the last stanza, Emmetsburg’s shooting touch went cold as Harris-Lake Park would outscore Emmetsburg 17-8 to take the 53-37 win.
For Emmetsburg, Erik Drost led the effort with 16 points, while Austin Krause and Shaun Erickson both chipped in five points each. Brandon Elbert would add four points to the tally, while Michael Pugh tallied three points.
Mike Myers added two points, while Thomas Schultes and Zach Anderson both hit free throws for one point each.
