E-Hawk JV?Boys Drop League Contests

The first two Lakes Conference outings were tough for Emmetsburg’s E-Hawk Junior Varsity squad, as they fell to LeMars on Tuesday by a 52-24 tally and then lost to Spencer on Friday in a 48-27 decision.

Against the Bulldogs in LeMars on Tuesday, Emmetsburg suffered through cold shooting in the first half, and would trail 8-27 at the half-time break.

In the second half, the young E-Hawks continued to struggle with their offense, and could come no closer than the 24-52 final tally.

Cooper Hofstad would score seven points and collect five rebounds, while Jacob Kibbie and Greg Wesley both added three points. Christian Strohman, Wes Schultes, Cole Jackson, Cameron Heddinger and Nathan Schiek all added two points and Alex DeFord made a free throw for one point.

Friday at Spencer, the JV squad would play close, trailing 23-25 at the break, but Spencer would pull away in the second half to take the 48-37 victory.

Emmetsburg was led by Wes Schultes with 18 points and eight rebounds. Clayton Freeman and Nate Schiek both scored four points, while Cooper Hofstad had three points and 10 rebounds.

Alex DeFord, Austin Frerichs, Greg Wesley and Jacob Kibbie all added two points to the tally.

Emmetsburg stands at 0-3 on the season.
