Wolverine Boys Qualify Lone Event For State

WEST?BEND -The West Bend-Mallard/Gilmore City-Bradgate Wolverines will send just one entry to the State Track Championships following action at last week’s Class 1A District meet.

The 4×800 relay, with Jesse Zinnel, Jason Zinnel, Nathan Grimm and Aaron Montag, finished third at the district with an 8:36.73, and run at state today (Thursday) at 12 noon.

The Medley Relay, with Jordan Buhs, Dustin Johnson, Davey Jergens and Montag finished third with a 3:54.3 but did not qualify for state.

Finishing fourth was Nolan Grimm in the 3200 meter run with an 11:14, while Jesse Zinnel was fourth in the 800 meter run with a 2:12. The 4×100 relay, Jordan Buhs, Travis Fehr, Dustin Johnson and Davey Jergens, finished with a :48.70 for fourth place as well.

In the 800 meters Jason Zinnel was fifth with a 2:14, while the 4×200 relay, with Jordan Buhs, Travis Fehr, Dustin Johnson and Davey Jergens, finished with a 1:38.10 for fifth place and Travis Fehr earned fifth in the 200 meter dash.

Sixth place went to Jack Fehr in the 3200 meter run with an 11:59 and Davey Jergens took sixth in the100 meter dash with a :12.0. Nolan Dahlhauser also finished sixth with a :57.5 in the 400 meter dash.dash.

Nolan Grimm took seventh in the 1600 meter run with a 5:31 effort and the 4×400 relay, with Jesse Zinnel, Jason Zinnel, Nathan Grimm and Aaron Montag, took seventh with a 4.00 clocking.

The Wolverines’ Tyler McKimmey took eighth in the 110 high hurdles with a :19.1 time and the Shuttle Hurdle Relay, with Tyler McKimmey, Nolan Dahlhauser, Jack Banwart and Dustin Johnson were eighth with a 1:12.
