Lady E-Hawks Close Regular Season
Emmetsburg’s Lady E-Hawks closed out the regular season on the volleyball court with a conference loss and an appearance at the Storm Lake Tournament over the weekend.
On Tuesday, Oct. 9, the Lady E-Hawks journeyed to Western Christian for the final conference match of the season and fell in three straight sets by game scores of 9-25, 5-25 and 8-25.
In the match, Ashton Connelly would come away with eight of 10 hits and two kills and a pair of digs.
Miranda Vlasman added six of seven hits with two kills, three of three serves and five digs, while Emily Noll added two of three serves.
Jacque Carlson made two of three serves and two of three hits, while Whitney Kibbie added four of four serves and seven of seven hits with a kill and three assists.
Alexa Naig made three of four serves, seven of 10 hits and two kills while adding two digs and two assists.
Katie Ruiz connected on one of three serves, while Britni Will made four of four serves, dug out two shots and added one assist. Michaela Rehm added three digs to the effort.
In action on Saturday at the Storm Lake Tournament, Emmetsburg went 0-4 on the day, losing to Spirit Lake 11-21 and 11-21 and then falling to Cherokee 15-21 and 19-21. Against Estherville Lincoln Central, the Lady E-Hawks fell by scores of 18-21 and 8-21 and then lost to Storm Lake by scores of 7-21 and 15-21.
Ashton Connelly went 26 for 31 at the net with seven kills and assisted on three blocks. Miranda Vlasman added 14 of 16 serves with an ace, 31 of 33 hits with six kills, an assisted block and 18 digs, while Emily Noll chipped in 13 of 15 serves, seven of 12 hits and two kills, along with two digs and an assist.
Jacque Carlson made six of eight serves with an ace, 12 of 15 hits with four kills, three assisted blocks and two digs. Whitney Kibbie added 18 of 21 serves, 24 of 31 hits with eight kills, eight digs ad 13 assists.
Alexa Naig added 14 of 15 serves, 16 of 23 hits with six kills and 15 assists, while Devyn White added one serve and one assisted block.
Britni Will would come away with 14 of 18 service completions and five aces and made five digs and Michaela Rehm added 14 digs to the Lady E-Hawks’ efforts in the tourney.
