E-Hawks To Face Warriors Friday Night

By Staff | Sep 6, 2012

Learning from mistakes is key to life, and for the Emmetsburg E-Hawks, learning from a non-district loss to Boyden-Hull/Rock Valley as they prepare to begin district play is crucial.

This Friday night, the E-Hawks open the Class 1A District One slate on the road as they travel to Armstrong to meet the newly formed North Union Warriors, the combination of Armstrong-Ringsted and North Sentral Kossuth.

“They have great size and good speed,”?noted Emmetsburg Head Coach Mike Dunlap; “They have several great athletes on their team from what we’ve seen on tape.”

The Warriors operate out of the Pro I formation, and will run in the off-T, use double spreads and Zones as well.

“They like to run speed options out of their doubles,”?Dunlap said. “And defensively, they are a 3-53 and 4/4 team.”

After Friday’s 14-34 loss, the mission for the E-Hawks is simple the rest of the season.

“We must continue to improve daily and to continue to play assignment football on both offense and defense,” Dunlap said.
